Camera di Commercio di Bologna
The new location for the offices of the Chamber of Commerce of Bologna, was developed from an architectural and structural design project for a building that up until now has represented a functional void in the urban fabric.
The project involved the division of the building on Via Marco Emilio Lepido 178 and the improvement of the mechanical and fire safety systems, replacement of finishes, the redefinition of the building facades and a resolution of the critical issues present inside and outside of the building.
Maintaining the intended use for offices, the building was divided in its floor above grade, into seven real estate units, one of which is intended as a reception and accessory service areas, another single real estate unit occupies two thirds of the building and houses the offices for the Chamber of Commerce, while the remainder of the spaces are for private offices. In the underground level, a portion of the existing parking area was transformed into archive areas.
The project, aimed at the redevelopment of the property, has the long-term objective of revitalizing the commercial and social assets present in the neighborhood. It resolves critical issues through a complete revisioning and reorganization of the internal workspaces and consequently, thanks to the flexible and customizable spaces, adapts to the changing needs of the contemporary work world.
