Andrea Botti
Head of Sustainability
Andrea graduated in Architecture and Building Engineering from the University of Bologna in 2008 and received his professional license as an engineer. After working with Impresa Schiavina and Politecnica in Modena, he moved to the UK in 2011 where he completed a Master’s in Advanced Sustainable Design at the University of Edinburgh. He then joined the University of Surrey as a researcher. In 2019, he completed a Doctorate of Industrial Research (EngD), which was co-funded by PRP Architects, focusing on climate change adaptation for residential buildings. He worked for WSP UK and WilkinsonEyre as a Senior Sustainability Consultant between 2019 and 2021. In 2022, he joined Open Project as Head of Sustainability.

Structurist Engineer - BIM Specialist
Open Project is looking for a STRUCTURIST ENGINEER with at least 3-5 years of experience to join our team. The resource will contribute to complex and innovative projects, exploiting the most advanced modelling, design and calculation technologies, in a broader and interdisciplinary context. We offer the opportunity to join a dynamic and stimulating context, with the possibility to grow professionally through continuous comparison and participation in innovative projects.
Main activities
Support in performing structural calculations and structural analysis for both new buildings and existing buildings
Support for structural design also through the use of FEM structural calculation software
BIM structural modelling with Autodesk Revit and participation in all design phases
Drafting of structural graphics (final, executive, construction design, etc.)
Minimum requirements
Education: Master's degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with specialisation in structures
3-5 years' experience in structural design (preferably both new design and existing structures)
Ability to use Autodesk Revit and Autocad software
Ability to use structural FEM calculation software (e.g. MasterSap, Midas, EnExSys, Straus, SAP2000, Aedes PCM, etc.)
Desirable requirements Good knowledge of the English language
Personal skills
Ability to work in a team
Proactivity and sense of responsibility for achieving project goals
Ability to plan activities and meet deadlines
Aptitude for problem solving
