Prometeia HQ
Prometeia S.p.A. is a leading provider of advisory services, software development and economics research, founded in Bologna in 1974. The project for the new headquarters involved the renovation of an existing office building built in the 1970s, which was subjected to a complete renovation of all the mechanical systems and construction elements.
The renovation work involved the complete reconstruction of the façades, readjustment of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as all fire prevention systems, the replacement of the interior finishes, and some structural restoration work.
The renovation respected the original architectural features of the building, especially the large glass façade at Piazza Trento e Trieste and the ribbon windows at the other facades, replacing the original materials with new high-performing ones, together with a state-of-the-art MEP system and other design features in order to reduce energy consumption and improve internal comfort.
The new headquarters consists of large open workspaces, meeting rooms of various sizes and some single offices. In addition to operational spaces, a hall, dining areas, archives, warehouses, and parking lots were also designed. The building maintains a visual connection with the surrounding natural environment, characterized by large green spaces. The floor-to-ceiling windows of the north façade connect the offices to the surrounding landscape, expanding towards the city and its green areas.
The relationship between the built space and the natural environment is significant from an aesthetic and substantial point of view. As an exemplary case of sustainable architecture with elevated energy performance, the building is certified LEED Gold.
